Women's programs

Program structure

Mission Gate offers programs for women at three facilities in rural Missouri. Our nine-month-minimum programs help women begin new lives through Christ and prepare to be reunited with their children and families.

Who gets accepted

We accept women, as well as mothers with children (up to age 12) who are newly released from prison or coming out of addiction, who understand that Mission Gate is a Christ-centered program, and who have submitted an application.

Program goals

More than just a place to live, our programs provide a substance-free environment with the structure, tools, and spiritual guidance women need to become sufficiently independent.

We provide accountability with house guidelines, expectations for appropriate conduct, work requirements for jobs, local church attendance, and working together cooperatively.

Individual accountability

  • Individual program goals
  • Networking with other services, agencies, resources, and churches
  • Reporting regularly to Probation and Parole, and to the Division of Family Services

Individualized programs

We design a specific program for each resident, drawing from this wealth of resources:

  • Parenting and family counseling
  • Spiritual counseling and mentoring
  • Overcoming trauma
  • Sexual abuse recovery
  • Bible studies
  • Christian 12-Step Program
  • Substance abuse education
  • Nutritional meal planning
  • Wellness and fitness education
  • Educational training
  • Budgeting and financial training
  • Making peace with your past
  • Grief recovery
  • Anger management
  • Relapse prevention

Children welcome

A huge benefit for mothers living at Mission Gate is being reunited with their children (up to age 12), who often move in and live as a family in our facilities.

All women enjoy outings, cookouts, and celebrations throughout their stay. Many residents make friends here who last a lifetime.

Children especially enjoy a large playground  and beautiful lake at Hannah's Ranch. They can fish, explore, and play with other children.
