Men's programs

Program structure

Individual accountability

Who gets accepted

Mission Gate offers Christian, ex-offender men's programs both in St. Louis and in rural Missouri.

Mission Gate offers programs at facilities for men both in rural Missouri and in the City of St. Louis. Our nine-month (or longer) programs help men begin new lives through Christ and prepare to be reunited with their families.

Who gets accepted

Individual accountability

Who gets accepted

Mission Gate accepts men newly released from prison or rehabilitation, who are ready for new lives.

We accept men who are newly released from prison or coming out of addiction, who understand that Mission Gate is a Christ-centered program, and who have submitted an application.

Individual accountability

Individual accountability

Our programs offer structure, tools, and spiritual guidance to men beginning a new life in Christ.

More than just a place to live, our programs provide a substance-free environment with the structure, tools, and spiritual guidance men need to become sufficiently independent.

We provide accountability with house guidelines, expectations for appropriate conduct, work requirements for jobs, local church attendance, and working together cooperatively.

Program components

Mission Gate sets program goals and networks with outside agencies, submitting reports as needed.

  Our program components include:

  • Individual program goals
  • Networking with other services, agencies, resources, and churches
  • Reporting regularly to Probation and Parole, and to the Division of Family Service

Individualized programs

We design a specific program for each resident, drawing from this wealth of resources:

  • Parenting and family counseling
  • Spiritual counseling and mentoring
  • Overcoming trauma
  • Sexual abuse recovery
  • Bible studies
  • Celebrate Recovery
  • Substance abuse education
  • GED and vocational training
  • Budgeting and financial training
  • Making peace with your past
  • Anger management
  • Relapse prevention
  • Preparing for ministry

Time for fun

Mission Gate residents also have time for fun--horseback riding, hiking, concerts, movies and more.

In addition to working and studying, our residents have time for fun — dinner out, horseback riding, bowling, movies, Christian concerts, and more.

On Mission Gate grounds, men can hike in beautiful forests or explore the Meramec River.
